2nd Cor 4:17

momentary, light affliction. The Gr. word for “light” means “a weightless trifle” and “affliction” refers to intense pressure. From a human perspective, Paul’s own testimony lists a seemingly unbearable litany of sufferings and persecutions he endured throughout his life ( 11:23–33 ), yet he viewed them as weightless and lasting for only a brief moment. eternal weight of glory. The Gr. word for “weight” refers to a heavy mass. For Paul, the future glory he would experience with the Lord far outweighed any suffering he experienced in this world (cf. Ro 8:17 , 18 ; 1Pe 1:6 , 7 ). Paul understood that the greater the suffering, the greater would be his eternal glory (cf. 1Pe 4:13 ).

things which are seen … not seen. Endurance is based on a person’s ability to look beyond the physical to the spiritual; beyond the present to the future, and beyond the visible to the invisible.

God removes all things in the believer’s life that would hinder fruit-bearing, i.e., He chastises to cut away sin and hindrances that would drain spiritual life just as the farmer removes anything on the branches that keep them from bearing maximum fruit ( Heb 12:3–11 ).

Discipline does not equal punishment. It involves so much more! There is training, coaching, correction, encouragement, and at times, reprimand. When you see it done with love, it is a wonderful experience, even though in the short term, there may be discomfort.

All discipline for the moment seems not to be joyful, but sorrowful; yet to those who have been trained by it, afterwards it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness.

Lord, may our hearts humbly bow before you, in persistent prayer. May we be alert, to the needs of others, so we might lift them up. Reveal yourself to us, through answered prayer, even though it may not be, what we wanted the outcome to be. May we always remember, that you care about us and love hearing our petitions.

Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with an attitude of thanksgiving;

Lord, this life is a marathon! Help us to run the race with endurance. Let us not lose site, of the hope we have, and the crown of life we will receive. Not because of what we have done, but what Jesus has done on the cross, and resurrection, and through his Holy Spirit, working in us. Thank you, Lord.

Blessed is a man who perseveres under trial; for once he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.

Lord, may our hearts be stirred up, knowing you have our backs, and you care deeply about us.  We are your workmanship, created for good works, that we might give you glory.

Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary.

Are you bearing fruit or are you not?  Are you a Christian, or are you just giving lip service that will not be acceptable?

If there is no fruit, you will be taken away.  That is not a place you want to be.  Pray that the Lord would help you fully see that you might produce fruit.  If you are bearing fruit (true believers), the sin in your life will be pruned away, that you may produce more fruit!  How great for those who believe, to have God help us, throw off the sins that hold us back.  This is a process, that does not happen over night.  May we hand over to God, those sins, so that we might not have to go through the painful process of pruning as much.  Let us hope for and wait, for that day when we are called home, to be fully complete, lacking in nothing!

Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit, He prunes it so that it may bear more fruit.

Set aside your political beliefs, which man has made.  The Bible says,  mankind was made in God’s image!  Even the most distorted of an image, deserves being treated with dignity and respect.   That also doesn’t mean, people are not supposed to submit to governmental authorities laws……unless it breaks God’s moral laws.  May God give us all wisdom, as we live in these trying times.  May he give wisdom to our leaders, who must see through the principle of scripture, and not be wise in their own eyes.

God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.

What Good News!  Do you believe it?  There is no sin you can hide from God.  Why not humble yourself before him, and be washed white as snow.  Don’t beat yourself up.  There is no sin God cannot forgive?  Do you believe it?  If you are hiding from him, then you are missing it.  Humble yourself before him, and let him change your heart, through his grace and mercy.  The alternative is, he will humble you anyway, but it will not be a good ending for you.  Not now, and not forever, possibly.  May the Lord grant you his eyes to see today.

Seek the Lord while He may be found; Call upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way And the unrighteous man his thoughts; And let him return to the Lord , And He will have compassion on him, And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon.
