Friendship vs Brothers and/or Sisters ( See Note Below)

bible.com/bible/100/pro.17.17.NASB1995

Note of explanation: The difference between a friend and brother is noted here. A true friend is a constant source of love, while a brother in one’s family may not be close, but is drawn near to help in trouble. Friends are closer than brothers because they are available all the time, not just in the crisis. Cf. 18:24.

FEAR IS A LIAR!

“Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭12:1-2‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

How great to have a friend and a Brother!

The difference between a friend and brother is noted here. A true friend is a constant source of love, while a brother in one’s family may not be close, but is drawn near to help in trouble. Friends are closer than brothers because they are available all the time, not just in the crisis.

I am blessed with a great companion in my wife. I have found this verse to be so true in my life. My wife, helps me be more than i could be, by myself. It had also, been so true and a blessing with some of our closest friends. How about you? Where have you found this truth in your life, from God’s word?

Two are better than one because they have a good return for their labor. For if either of them falls, the one will lift up his companion. But woe to the one who falls when there is not another to lift him up.

What a beautiful picture, of what the church should look like. May we, as brothers and sisters in Christ, exemplify this verse, imperfect as we are. May we display a glimpse of, one day what we will become, when we are perfected, in Heaven. A little bit of heaven on earth. This 😇 not 👹 during this holiday season. Let me hear fro you this week! What are you thankfull for? I am thankful for my family both immediate and church, for breath, for music, for you all, who put up with me. 😊 …..and last but not least, Jesus!

“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal.
Matthew 6:19 NASB

We live in a world, that seems to be crumbling around us. Our hope, both in the future and now, in this present darkness, is that we have a friend in Jesus, who has overcome the world. Because of his reconciliation of us, with God the Father, we can live life, without the bondage of sin, and the freedom to share the Good News, with with all who would listen. The book of 1 John, calls us overcomers! Can I get an Amen?

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.

Jesus set the example for us, and called us friends. He laid down his life for us. Is there those, who we would do the same? Think about who they are and tell them. Also, tell them, it’s not because we are so great, but because Jesus did the same for us! God is always the hero.

Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.

Lord, may our hearts humbly bow before you, in persistent prayer. May we be alert, to the needs of others, so we might lift them up. Reveal yourself to us, through answered prayer, even though it may not be, what we wanted the outcome to be. May we always remember, that you care about us and love hearing our petitions.

Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with an attitude of thanksgiving;

Lord, may you show us your greatness, in the little things we do, and the interactions we have, with others today. May you reveal to your greatness, that our hearts might be filled with joy, and proclaim your greatness to others. Amen.

For this reason You are great, O Lord God ; for there is none like You, and there is no God besides You, according to all that we have heard with our ears.
