God wants you to speak to him, with a heart that seeks him, and wants to know him more. He does not want some ritualist repitition. He also wants you to know him. The Bible tells us all that we need to know about him. Meditate on his word and tell him what’s on your heart and the Holy Spirit will guide and teach you.

Lord, may our hearts humbly bow before you, in persistent prayer. May we be alert, to the needs of others, so we might lift them up. Reveal yourself to us, through answered prayer, even though it may not be, what we wanted the outcome to be. May we always remember, that you care about us and love hearing our petitions.

Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with an attitude of thanksgiving;

Oh Lord, if we could just get this straight.  Listen first, carefully choose our word’s, and not take personally what people say, which can bring us to anger.  Also Lord, may we be reminded, to be obedient to this passage.  This is not a suggestion, but a command by God!  May your Holy Spirit give us the self control, to carry this out.

This you know, my beloved brethren. But everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger;

This is why God called David, a man after God’s own heart.  We must have a teachable heart, to be lead by the Spirit.  Lord, please do not allow ourselves to be hardened by the world around us.   You O Lord, are the one who changes hearts, through your Holy Spirit.  May you teach and lead, as we humble ourselves before you.

Teach me to do Your will, For You are my God; Let Your good Spirit lead me on level ground.
