Good News about Grace
From Good News about Grace by Rick Warren who wrote ” The Purpose Driven Life”
Isaiah 1:18 says, “No matter how deep the stain of your sins, I can take it out and make you as clean as freshly fallen snow” (LB).
If ever there were a sin you’d think was unforgivable, it would be denying Jesus three times on the night he was betrayed. But Jesus knew Peter would deny him, and he even knew Peter would come back to him. In fact, before it even happened, Jesus said to Peter in the Upper Room, “I have pleaded in prayer for you that your faith should not completely fail. So when you have repented and turned to me again, strengthen and build up the faith of your brothers” (Luke 22:32).
Jesus knew that Peter’s ministry would be more effective after his denial than it was before. And, sure enough, it was! Peter wrote two of the books of the Bible called 1 and 2 Peter. Then he shared his memoirs with a relative, and that’s the Gospel of Mark.
You may think God’s forgotten you. He hasn’t. The Good Shepherd leaves the 99 sheep to go after the one. He knows how you’ve fallen away. If you have — either by one giant step or a series of petty steps where you just slipped away and you’re not as close to Christ as you used to be — you need to pray what David prayed when he came back to God after committing adultery. He said, “Restore to me the joy of your salvation” (Psalm 51:12 NLT). David did not have to pray, “God, restore to me my salvation,” because he hadn’t lost his salvation. He had lost the joy.
And some of you have, too. Come home to Christ today.
It’s not about US, it’s all about GOD!
From Rick Warrens book, “The Purpose Driven Life”
Father, forgive me, when I have not forgiven others. May I remember the times you have forgiven me, that I might forgive freely.
Neither your past, present, or future mess ups, can keep you from Gods Love, when you trust in Jesus. Say it out Loud,. NOTHING, NOTHING, NOTHING! Meditate on the verse below.
May we, shout it from the mountaintops, that Jesus Christ is Lord! May his blessing, continue to fall upon us us. May we rejoice in our suffering, for his names sake. Let him hear from you, too all who believe.
Jesus cares about us. One day, he will return, and take us to our eternal home. There will be no more tears, no more sickness, no more dying. Until then, we remain steadfast in hope and faith. Fully God, and fully man. Yet we have a friend in Jesus.
Jesus said, “for I go to prepare a place for you. If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also.”
John 14:2-3 NASB1995
Father, we can not do this on our own. Thank you for the Holy Spirit who is our Comforter and Strength to help us accomplish your will.
WITNESSES: People who tell the truth about Jesus Christ (cf. Jn 14:26; 1Pe 3:15). The Gr. word means “one who dies for his faith” because that was commonly the price of witnessing.
What Ark is God calling you to build, in Faith? We are never to Old, to step out in Faith. At 68, this still applies to me.
What Ark is God calling us to build. It wasn’t his work on the Ark that saved him and his household, it was his Faith in obedience to what God had called him to do.. He trusted Go, not knowing the outcome.
Pride come before the fall.
“You younger men, likewise, be subject to your elders; and all of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, for God is opposed to the proud, but gives grace to the humble. Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper time,” 1 Peter 5:5-6
Father, forgive us, when raise ourselves up in arrogance , and think we we are the center of he universe, that we lift ourselves up, instead of you you. We are your workmanship, created in YOUR IMAGE. May we marvel in the Creator not the Your Created. May God Bless us All today, as we humble ourselves before him.
